Hermosa Beach, one of the three “beach cities” (along with Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach) in the South Bay area of Los Angeles is a popular destination for it’s beach style living. Similar in many respects to Manhattan Beach, it has trendy retail boutique stores, ‘green belt’ walking path, parks and amazing restaurants located within walking distance of the beach and Hermosa Pier.
The city’s neighborhood is divided into “Hermosa Beach Sand”, “Hermosa Beach Valley” and “Hermosa Beach East”. The "Hermosa Beach Sand" is aptly named for its closeness to the beach.
The "Hermosa Beach Valley" is located just east of the ‘green belt’ trail running from north to south and many of its homes have panoramic ocean and city views.
The "Hermosa Beach East" is located just east of Pacific Coast Highway and whose many homes sit atop the continually slopping elevation upward and many of its homes also have ocean views.
The Hermosa Beach City School District is a two-school District, unique to the Los Angeles area. In 2004, both schools were honored with a California Distinguished School status, and both were named as National Blue Ribbon Schools.
